Job Description


We are currently looking for a temporary Assistant Inventory Coordinator for our flagship store on Charing Cross Road.

As an ideal candidate you will have previous bookselling, warehouse or goods handling experience including the use of a computerised stock control system.

The role is a very physical one involving a lot of lifting and moving. You will also need to be able to work efficiently, and using your own initiative.

You will be working in conjunction with the Assistant Inventory Coordinator, reporting to the Group Goods In & Stock Supervisor.

This fixed term contract is for 40 hours per week, working Tuesday to Saturday, and will run from mid October 2017 to January 2018.

The successful candidate will be meticulous and flexible, and will be required to take on a wide range of responsibilities, including:

  • day-to-day sorting of delivered stock and crates
  • ensuring all crates and trolleys throughout the store are managed effectively
  • booking inventory onto database as required
  • awareness of time sensitivity in relation to stock
  • returning stock as required
  • communicating effectively with Heads of Department and Shop Management
  • managing and distributing a small number of deliveries into the flagship store
