Job Description
We are currently looking for an enthusiastic and motivated person to focus on the development of the Library & Commercial Accounts team as Head of the department.
The successful candidate will lead the team of 4 and will be based at Charing Cross Road.
Main responsibilities of the position:
  • Develop sales strategies to significantly grow this important direct selling division
  • Identification of potential growth opportunities through academic, B2B and B2C initiatives
  • Work with the central marketing team in relation to all promotional and marketing strategies with a clear focus of maximising sales
  • Manage a team of account experts in driving key account activity, implementing/delegating actions as needed
  • Cross functional relationships with internal departments in order to improve the efficiency of the services offered
  • Preparation and circulation of weekly sales and margin analysis reports to the team and management
  • Manage and  host visits from customers to pick books and occasional visits to customers' premises
As an ideal candidate you will be an entrepreneurial sales-focused leader, a confident decision maker with great team building skills.  You will be well-organised and efficient, with the ability to focus on goals. 
You will also be client-focused with a good customer service ethic and a proven ability to interact with clients at all levels. You must also have an eye for detail, a good telephone manner and an excellent command of written and spoken English.
Knowledge of Word and Excel and experience in account management or high value customer care are required.
Experience in a purchasing or buying role is desirable.
Knowledge of Booksolve would be a distinct advantage.
The hours of work will be Monday to Friday 9.00 to 17.30. This contract will run for 12 months in the first instance.
